We bid goodbye to Hot Springs on June 14th and headed north on Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway. The previous day we scouted out a bypass around downtown Hot Springs. Our proposed bypass took forever for us to drive in the car. We decided to go for it and drive right through downtown on Central Ave. passing Bathhouse Row. A high curb is on the outside lane, so we didn't want to get close to it. Being careful allowed us to get through with no problems. Scenic 7 is a series of hills and curves that runs from El Dorado in the south to Harrison in the north. See this link:

Passing many of Arkansas famous lakes is a highlight of the byway along with a few small towns and forests. We had heard about the Cliff House Restaurant
Cliff House Restaurant located next to the "Grand Canyon of Arkansas south of the village of Jasper.

We called ahead and asked if they had a spot to park Big Red and the car attached. They said just south of the restaurant is a gravel parking lot. It worked perfect. The weather was great and so were the views from the balcony. The food was pretty good also, with great service.

Tim loves hummingbirds. The balcony of the restaurant had a series of feeders along it. The hummingbirds were feeding aggressively and Tim was enjoying it.

Linda had to drag Tim away, so we could continue our drive to our overnight stay in Harrison.
